Imap settings

IMAPs Settings

Follow these steps to configure settings on your mail client application e.g. MsOutlook, Gmail App on Android, ipads etc;

 - Incoming IMAP Server Name: **imap.gmail.com**
 - Incoming Server Port: **993**
 - Use SSL (required): **Yes**
 - Email: Your full email address e.g. **xyz@students.uonbi.ac.ke** or **abc@uonbi.ac.ke**
 - Username: Your full email address e.g. **xyz@students.uonbi.ac.ke** or **abc@uonbi.ac.ke**
 - Password: Your email password.

P0P3 Settings

 - Incoming POP3 Server Name: **pop.gmail.com**
 - Incoming Server Port: **995**
 - Use SSL (required): **Yes**
 - Email: Your full email address e.g. **xyz@students.uonbi.ac.ke** or **abc@uonbi.ac.ke**
 - Username: Your full email address e.g. **xyz@students.uonbi.ac.ke** or **abc@uonbi.ac.ke**
 - Password: Your email password.

SMTP Settings

 - Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: **smtp.gmail.com**
 - Outgoing Server Port: **587** for **TLS** OR
 - Outgoing Server Port: **465** for **SSL** OR
 - Enable authentication
 - Email: Your full email address e.g. **xyz@students.uonbi.ac.ke** or **abc@uonbi.ac.ke**
 - Username: Your full email address e.g. **xyz@students.uonbi.ac.ke** or **abc@uonbi.ac.ke**
 - Password: Your email password.

These changes are as a result of the need for increased security measures required to safeguard online sensitive information like username and passwords during transit between mail server and mail clients.
